The Port of Figueira da Foz reached on Sunday, December 25, its best year ever with the mark of 2.161 Million tonnes handled.

Considering the cargo handled in recent months, this was an expected result, having been achieved with the entry of a ship that unloaded glass and is loading 4,500 tons of clay, which is destined for Spain.

Although the figures are still provisional, the growth in the movement of glass products (+74%) and non-metallic minerals (+29%) made a strong contribution to this record. 

By Sunday 465 ships had called at the Port of Figueira da Foz, an increase of 18% compared to the same period last year.

The best year ever for the Port of Figueira da Foz was in 2014, when 2.156 million tonnes were handled.
