The Port of Figueira da Foz continually invests to improve the navigability conditions of the port, reinforce security conditions, as well as improve the operating conditions at the terminals and intra-port digital connectivity. The main objective is to increase the efficiency of services and improve the environmental performance of all its activities.
This includes investments aimed at the decarbonisation of activities carried out in the port and a greater use of renewable energies.
This project translates the entire digitalisation of the logistics chains which use national ports, through the evolution and expansion of the Single Window Port.
The objective of this project is to expand information flow management throughout the entire logistics chain, integrating maritime transport and national ports with land transport modes and connection to dry ports, using the logic of intermodality, in addition to establishing a connection to the foreland (international ports).

Project Summary:
The project is conceived as a strategic capitalisation initiative for the consolidation of the CENCYL cooperation area through the functional articulation between the Eurocity (Almeida-Ciudad Rodrigo) and the CENCYL network of cities, in order to add a genuine cross-border component to the extended area of interregional urban cooperation, which also represents a strategic alliance between the urban world and its rural environment.
Project objectives:
In this context of functional and territorial articulation of cross-border cooperation, capitalisation initiatives represent a strategic alliance between businesses, citizens and administrations to involve the greatest number of actors in the objective of decarbonising urban activities towards climate neutrality.
