Until February 2022, the Port of Figueira da Foz recorded a growth of 19.5% in the volume of cargo handled, compared with the same period the previous year, totalling 302,302 tonnes.
The handling of containers also grew, having handled 2,677 TEU's, an increase of 20.5% compared with the same period last year.
The commodities that contributed most to this result were non-metallic minerals, glass products and chemical wood pulp.
The Port of Figueira da Foz continues to be a markedly export port, with exports increasing by 10.17% compared with the same period the previous year, serving the industrial sector of the region in which it operates.
