The Port of Figueira da Foz registered a growth of 8% in the handling of merchandise in the 1st quarter of 2023, with a total of 505,799 tons, compared with the same period of the previous year.

Containerized cargo was the type of cargo that presented the best performance, having handled 5,312 TEU, which represents a growth of 48.9% compared with the same period.

Forest products, non-metallic minerals, paper products and cement also registered a positive performance.
Chemical pulp and glass products registered a negative performance.

It should also be noted that the volume of exports decreased 3.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. 

In this 1st quarter 111 ships called at the Port of Figueira da Foz, a 7.8% increase.
