The Port of Figueira da Foz handled 1,535,500 tons in the first nine months of the year, down 9.1% on the same period last year.
Breakbulk Cargo, driven by forestry products with a growth of 88%, was the best performing cargo segment with an increase of 1.1%.
In contrast, wood by-products and paper products fell by 45.5% and 14.3% respectively. 
Containerized cargo fell by 9.1%, with 14,935 TEU handled during the period. 
It should also be noted that the volume of exports fell by 16.4% compared to the same period last year. 
During this period, 337 vessels called at the Port of Figueira da Foz.
