On 24 May, the Ports of Aveiro and Figueira da Foz launched a new international public tender for the public service concession of the tug and mooring service.
This tender, with a concession period of 10 years, will allow the Ports of Aveiro and Figueira da Foz to reinforce their tugboat fleet. This will enable them to respond to the growing trend in demand from larger ships and to the necessary decarbonisation of activity in both ports.
It should be noted that the international public tender, launched in June 2023, attracted only one competitor. As a result, the tender was not awarded and the procedure was terminated. This was due to the fact that the assumptions necessary for the award were not met.
The deadline for submitting tenders is 26 August 2024.
