On 18th September, the tanker ALTAY docked at the Liquid Bulk Terminal, the first such operation since 2012. This stopover follows the dredging work carried out between 2023 and 2024, which removed approximately 500,000 m3 of sediment, and the installation of a new buoy system, which allowed the terminal to be reactivated for liquid bulk operations.
The Malta-flagged tanker ALTAY, from Ceuta and operated by Eurofoz, has a length overall (LOA) of 108 metres and a gross tonnage of 4,812 tonnes, with a load of 1,350 tonnes.
The operation, under the responsibility of the concessionaire Asfalcentro, went according to plan.
This call marks the beginning of a new phase for the dry bulk terminal at the Port of Figueira da Foz, reinforcing its strategic role in the logistics sector and consolidating its capacity to handle this type of cargo.
