The Port of Figueira da Foz Administration (APFF) has launched a public tender for the construction of photovoltaic self-consumption infrastructure at the Port of Figueira da Foz, reinforcing the port's commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The project involves the installation of infrastructure for the generation of electricity from solar energy for self-consumption, helping to reduce energy dependence and lower the carbon footprint of port operations.
This initiative forms part of APFF's strategy to modernise its infrastructure and promote solutions that contribute to more efficient resource management, in line with the decarbonisation and energy transition goals of the port sector.
The tender procedure was published in the Portuguese Official Gazette (Diário da República) on 3 July 2026, with a base contract value of €436,000 (excluding VAT) and an execution period of 120 days. The contract will be awarded on the basis of the lowest price criterion.

The project is partially financed by the Ambienta Fund, with funding amounting to €228,233.00, under Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), Component C13 – Energy Efficiency in Buildings.
