The Port of Figueira da Foz took part in the 2026 edition of Seatrade Cruise Med, held in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, on 16 and 17 September.
Participation in this event provided an opportunity to showcase the Port of Figueira da Foz to different stakeholders in the cruise industry, as well as to promote the tourism potential of the surrounding territory.
Located within the urban area and close to destinations of significant tourist, religious, historical and heritage interest in the Central Region of Portugal, the Port of Figueira da Foz has the potential to position itself as a distinctive destination for smaller cruise ships.
Over the two-day event, participation in Seatrade Cruise Med helped strengthen the promotion of the Port of Figueira da Foz’s characteristics and capabilities, while also providing an opportunity to establish contacts and gain insights into trends and opportunities associated with the development of the cruise industry.
Seatrade Cruise Med is one of the leading international events dedicated to the cruise industry in the Mediterranean and surrounding seas, bringing together cruise lines, ports, tourism destinations, operators and other industry stakeholders.
Participation in the event therefore contributed to strengthening the Port of Figueira da Foz’s presence within the cruise industry and identifying new opportunities to promote and develop this activity in the region.
